back to the topic of understanding.
many conflicts arise because we didnt try to understand things from others' point of view. the art of understanding is so complicated that sometimes, even the trying is not enough to make things work. cos for a fact, we're indeed not others' and we can never fully comprehend their stand.
trying to understand, however, does helps to smoothen out some conflicts. cos in the process we learn more about others and at times, more about ourselves too. and so we try to bear it in mind to avoid doing the wrong things or repeat the certain mistakes. then again, exercising the precautions may be good, but sometimes may not seems to be enough. we can try to understand, but we can never really understand fully. but at the very least, the trying part helps to reduce the chances of misunderstanding.

sometimes people wont understand why certain things get to you. empathy can only get that far.each of us see things or matters from different angles, thus our judgement differs. bearing in mind we're afterall individuals with unique set of thinkings and principles, though we cant deny that at times our views may decide to dance to the same rhythm. and because we're like this, we sometimes find it difficult to bring across messages to another. not because the other party wasnt paying attention, its just that he/she may not get the intended message right. the result of the difference in frequencies.
and its also pretty common how most of us took time and distance to be the standard measurement for friendship. i must say though these two factors in its physical sense does contribute to the depth of a friendship one owns, it does not however, necessary constitutes wholy the depth of understanding between. and understanding, in its own mystery, sometimes is not garnered through periods but at moments. so it doesnt always matter how long you know one person to say you really understand him/her. here, time and distance are not that crucial. by experiences, we understand that we could have a person as a friend for years, yet we could find him/her not really understanding us at all. yet surprisingly at other times, we find solace in someone whom we've known barely for days or months. how cliche is that.
all mankind enjoy the feeling of being cared for. even animals alrights. who doesnt you tell me. and of course, "do unto others what you want others do unto you", we cared for the people around us too. care and understanding sure comes hand in hand. so in the usual situation, the more we care, the more we probe. yes, this is a form of concern for others. but probing too much in some cases may result in more hurt then help. so well, here's where the understanding part of us should comes into the picture. if we do try to understand the other's plight, we should know our probing limits. but the problem is sometimes we're blinded by the false perception that knowing more is better understanding, which can be wrong to some extent. cos we all knew, some things are meant to be unsaid. and each of us are entitled the rights to keep some secrets for ourselves. we cant say this is being selfish, but we need some private space too right.
whats more, if its about being fair, we cannot expect others to open up to us fully if we didnt do the same.all in all, its not really about being fair or whatsoever. its not about how much others gave you and you gave others either. its about how much one understands the other and vice versa.

:saturday: johor trip with joseph, kangming and darling doggy siokzhi!met up at woodlands interchange at noon and went for the bus 950 into johor bahru. surprisingly we got through the singapore customs pretty fast, but was set aback when we met up with the deadly part which was the malaysian customs. we were stucked in that small area for nearly 2 whole hours! imagine the super big crowd and all of us being squeeze here and there like the packet sardines. deadly. and we nearly ran out of air can, including the non-fresh ones. heh. anyhow, we managed to got through the terrible place only at around 3plus, headed straight for our long-awaited lunch at kenny rogers. the chicken was delicious, and so was the side dishes like mashed potatos and wedges! after the chickens, we went to book our room for the ktv and then cabbed down to pelangi plaza where we shopped a little and played some arcade before heading back to city square again for out ktv cum buffet dinner session.
the ktv was super fun, especially the buffet dinner part! there was just so much food and choices: chawanmushi, sushi, miso steamboat, chinese style buffet items, fried snacks, tom yam claypots, noodles and rice, cakes, desserts, ice-creams, chicken soups, double-boiled soups and many many more! wahahas. i tink i had so much food that i ended up with a tummy! hehs. we sang many songs too! that miss siokzhi angelic bull-dog was crazy lah can, sing those funny songs, what "hey mickey" and "hong dou! da hong dou!". wahahas. but we had fun lah. in the end, we went out of johor late and had to cab home. :)
:sunday:pulau ubin trip!kangming, joseph, me, yanfang, jiani, siokzhi.gathered at compass point and headed down to changi village in bus 89. we got ourselves some sub-way food and snacks before jumping on the bum-boats to ubin island. managed to reach the island only at 3plus, which is pretty late already. we quickly rented our bicycles and started our advanture cycling. initially we wanted to explore the
"chek jawa" but somehow we just couldnt manage to find it. so, we changed our desintation to an easier one.
we went mamam beach instead. it was nice! it hasnt changed alot since last year i went. then we went to the nearby orchid park where the uncle sells cold drinks to settle our sub-way food and had some nice chat with the resident uncle. along came a navy-police too! and the uncle treated us to some nice chicken wings! after bidding uncle goodbye, we went back to maman beach for some photo-taing and relaxing before heading back to jetty area for our super delicious seafood dinner! we had chilli crabs, oatmeal prawns, veges, eggs and 12 cans of drinks! wahahas. went back singapore mainland at around 8plus and headed to mos burger at compass point for some milktea before heading home sweet home.
finally i went back ubin again. =)
